85.Week 3 Assignment.

Now it’s time for your week 3 assignment!

This week was all about Cinematic Shots, so naturally the homework will ask you to create various cinematic camera movements. Here are the details:

Your Assignment: Create a Poetic Cinematic Experience

  • Create a Poem written by ChatGPT or yourself. Make sure it is around 30 seconds long when read aloud. The poem can be inspiring, silly, serious, or anything in-between. Try to pick a topic that is meaningful and fun to you.
  • Use Your Voice or an AI Voice to create the Narration
  • Create Cinematic Images for the Poem. Try to select images that will work well with camera movement.
  • Cut together at least 5 shots that incorporate camera movements learned this week.
  • Add some music to give your film more emotion.
  • Bonus points for realism. Try to make the TAs question if your video was actual footage.

While the previous two weeks were about pitching and concepts, this week is more about realism. Try to pick shots and scenes that would look realistic with camera movements. This could be drone shots, close-up details, or anything in-between.

You don’t have to have dynamic camera movements in every shot. If it helps your story, feel free to mix in moving shots with static shots, just like a typical film.

99.Assignment.

It’s time for your final assignment!

This week is all about bringing all of the concepts you’ve learned together into a cohesive film. Here are the details:

Your Assignment: Create a 30+ Second Film

  • Create a short film that tells a narrative story. It needs to be at least 30 seconds long.
  • You can cover any genre or topic that interests you.
  • You can use voice-over, narration, characters talking, or vocal-free production. The choice is entirely up to you.
  • Include at least one advanced topic learned this week:
    • Advanced Face Compositing in MyHeritage
    • Animated Object Isolation and Animation
    • A Looping Background Using Loopflow
    • The Puppet Tool
    • Generative Prompt-to-Video Using Runway
  • Try to keep shots consistent in tone and style. Everything should feel like it belongs together.
  • Include camera movements that feature paralaxing.
  • Bring it all together with music and sound effects.

When you’re ready to turn in your assignment, you can upload it to the week 4 assignment channel or share a link.
